A Call For Your Membership
Mission Statement
Quail Forever is dedicated to the protection and enhancement of quail and other upland wildlife through habitat improvement, public awareness, education and advocacy for sound land management policy.
Making a difference for quail and other upland wildlife
Quail Forever's call for your membership is a call to action. We are a proactive conservation organization founded in 2005 in response to the continuing decline of quail populations throughout the North American quail range. QF was established for you--the quail hunter/conservationist who wants to make a difference for quail.
QF works through a local chapter system to create and restore habitat for quail and other upland wildlife. QF also helps acquire public wildlife lands, preserves the legacy of our hunting heritage, and speaks boldly for wildlife conservation in the legislative arena. Through our chapters, staff, and volunteers we are actively engaged with the local, state, and federal wildlife professionals, agricultural policy-makes, and legislators that can make a difference for quail.
Quail Forever's members and chapters are dedicated to local, hands-on conservation. Fundamental to Quail Forever is a unique fundraising system directed to local action. Quail don't migrate, and neither do the dollars raised by your local QF chapter. Unlike most other conservation organizations, local QF chapters retain control of 100 percent of the net funds they raise. Within our mission guidelines of habitat development and conservation education, use of QF funds is determined by the local chapter.
Only your $30 annual membership fee is used by the QF National Office. That amount funds QF's membership publication, the professional services of QF wildlife biologists, our national education programs, and state/federal legislative advocacy. This unique approach makes all the difference for the wildlife in your community; establishing a foundation for true grassroots, community-based conservation. QF's network of volunteer chapter leaders, with the assistance of Quail Forever wildlife biologists, use chapter-controlled funds to restore and enhance wildlife habitat, influence conservation policy and implement youth education programs tailored to meet the needs of each chapter and community.
Quail Forever was formed by Pheasants Forever. Pheasants Forever was established in 1982 in response to the decline of pheasant populations due to rampant habitat loss. In PF's 20+ years of history, over 600 PF chapters and 115,000 PF members have put the PF model of locally controlled habitat funds to good work. Those chapters have worked on over 300,000 habitat projects benefiting over 3.4 million acres for wildlife. PF has also participated in over 800 land acquisitions nationwide, which have established over 100,000 acres now open to public hunting. Through the use of the successful PF model, Quail Forever's mission is to have a similar positive impact for quail and quail hunters.
